Dark Roast Whole Bean Coffee

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been disappointed with Purity Coffee. I have refunded your order in full, and cancelled your subscription (which can be reactivated at any time if we can figure this out!).

If you do not mind sharing, what brew method is it you are using? How are you grinding? We are a small company, and any feedback you can provide is very helpful! I am more than happy to discuss grinding and brewing techniques with you if you would like to work together to see if we can get a great tasting result you enjoy. Of course, everyone enjoys different flavor profiles, so Purity Coffee will not be for everyone.

We do not roast too light or too dark, as at Purity Coffee our number one focus is health. We roast to maintain the antioxidants and health benefits while minimizing or eliminating any of the negative aspects that can occur during the roasting process. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are of concern when you roast long and dark, and we carefully choose when to end the roasting cycle to eliminate PAH content in our coffee. Because of that, our dark roast is not as dark as something like a French or Italian that you might be used to.

All whole bean Purity Coffee orders are roasted fresh to order and ship directly from our roasting facility. Because they are fresh, they are generally not very oily.

We quality control every batch through cupping and reviewing the roast log data. We monitor the roast daily and we QC batches, and once a quarter lab test random samples from the roaster to verify that the profile still matches our standards. With that said, it's possible that this was an "off" batch. I'd be happy to send you a free smaller sized bag to try, if that was indeed the problem.
