FLOW: Original Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee

Thanks for giving us a try! We totally understand that flavor is such a personal thing, and it’s important to love the taste of what you’re drinking.

While health is a big part of what we do, we also work hard to create roasts that are rich, smooth, and enjoyable. If you'd like, we’d love to help you troubleshoot your brew or find a roast that better suits your taste preferences, we offer several options with different flavor profiles.

Different beans can require different grind sizes based on different growing conditions, terroir, variety, etc. They can also differ in density and relatedly, solubility (how easy it is for the coffee to be dissolved into the water during brewing). For those reasons, you may need to make adjustments based on the bean/brand you're using. Plus, you’re dialing in your preferred flavor profile, not ours, though we're happy to give you a starting point!

We recommend using a burr grinder and two tablespoons of ground coffee for every 8oz of water used to brew. If the flavor is tastng weak or sour, try adjusting the grind slightly finer. If the flavor is too bold or bitter, adjust the grind slightly coarser. A minor grind adjustment will have a huge impact on the end resulting brew.
