Aponte Inga Decaf Coffee

The Coffee You Love. Now Decaf.

Your daily coffee is a ritual. And now that ritual can extend into evenings and quiet afternoons, caffeine-free.

Aponte Inga Decaf is our second decaf in the Sacred Cups collection, grown by the Inga community in the mountains of Nariño, Colombia and naturally decaffeinated through a chemical-free sugar cane process. Toasted almond, caramel toffee, a whisper of berry on the finish.

The coffee's integrity remains. The ritual remains. The relationship remains.

A Living Relationship with the Inga

This coffee comes from the Inga community of Aponte in the mountains of Nariño, Colombia. They are guardians of their territory, and their farming reflects long-term stewardship, not short-term yield. Grown at high elevation in mineral-rich volcanic soil, the cup expresses clarity, balance, and depth.

We've walked these farms and built direct relationships with the producers. They set the price. They define their reinvestment goals. Every purchase supports their vision for ecological care, cultural continuity, and economic dignity.

Chemical-Free Decaffeination

Aponte Inga Decaf is different. We use a natural sugar cane process that bonds with caffeine and lifts it out gently, while leaving the coffee's natural sweetness, antioxidants, and character intact.

  • Naturally derived. From fermented sugarcane and vinegar, not synthetic chemicals.
  • Flavor-preserving. Keeps the coffee's natural sweetness, body, and complexity intact.
  • Specialty-grade trusted. The sugar cane process is celebrated in the specialty coffee world, especially for Colombian coffees, for how gently it handles the bean.

Well-Made for Well-Being

Sacred Cups is one of the cleanest coffees in the world and our decaf is held to the exact same standard. Every batch of Aponte Inga Decaf is rigorously third-party lab tested for mold, mycotoxins, pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants.

It's rich in antioxidants, gentle on the stomach, and crafted to make you feel good during and after drinking.

FAQs

Yes. We use a natural sugar cane process that derives its solvent from fermented sugarcane and vinegar — no synthetic chemicals like methylene chloride are ever used.

Both are chemical-free. Mountain Water uses pure water, temperature, and time. Sugar cane decaffeination uses ethyl acetate naturally derived from fermented sugarcane. Sugar cane is especially loved in the specialty coffee world for how well it preserves a coffee's natural sweetness.

The Inga community grows this coffee using regenerative, time-honored practices that meet or exceed organic standards, but the community does not have access to the formal USDA certification process. We work with them directly to honor the way they farm.

Yes. Every batch is third-party tested for mold, mycotoxins, pesticide residue, heavy metals, and other contaminants.

That's exactly what it's made for. This lot was decaffeinated intentionally so the ritual can continue any time of day.

The sugar cane process removes the majority of caffeine while preserving flavor. Like all decaf coffees, trace amounts may remain.

Keep it in an airtight container, away from light, heat, and moisture. Enjoy within a year of the roast date printed on your bag.
