Numerous scientific research studies have demonstrated strong associations between regular coffee consumption and protection against onset from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. While it is unclear as to which specific constituents in coffee are responsible for these protective effects, coffee contains a range of bioactive compounds, including caffeine, chlorogenic acid, and polyphenols - all of which have been shown to reduce neuroinflammation. However, Pyrocatechol, a component in roasted coffee that is produced by the thermal decomposition of chlorogenic acid, in particular, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects that inhibit the onset of neurodegenerative diseases.

In an effort to craft what we believe to be an ideal coffee specifically formulated to protect against Alzheimer’s, we sought to maximize the levels of pyrocatechol contained in this coffee. For this purpose, we followed the roast levels that were diagramed by a particular scientist (Fukuyama, 2018) whose study revealed pyrocatechol as a potent anti-inflammatory agent in the suppression of neurodegenerative disease. We are not making any specific health claims specific to this new Founder’s Roast, but based on the available science, we imagine it would be an outstanding coffee optimized for the prevention of Alzheimer’s.

Roast: Medium-Dark

Ingredient:

100% Specialty-grade organic Arabica coffee

Purity Coffee contains only high quality Arabica coffee beans with no additives or allergens.

Brewing recommendations:

Use clean, fresh, chemical-free water with some mineral content. Grind coffee fresh to match your brewing method. Use water around 200 degrees F (93 degrees C). Keep brewing equipment clean. Store coffee beans in an airtight container away from light, heat, and moisture.

One 12 oz bag = about 25-30 8 oz cups of coffee

I have purchased several Purity Coffees and I really enjoy the fresh flavors of this coffee. I can not have a lot of caffeine and this coffee does not upset my stomach nor does it bother my heart. The flavors I enjoyed very much and will purchase again when it comes available

Delicious coffee! I am not missing any flavors or richness after switching from Starbucks to Purity. Based on the information Purity has described I am getting a clean product which is more healthy for me. Time will tell
